Technology Industry Partnership of Northwest PA
The mission of the Technology Industry Partnership of Northwest Pennsylvania (TIP) is to help introduce advanced technologies to a spectrum of industry segments for improved opportunity and competitiveness. TIP aims to identify emerging technologies that affect total cost of operation, to define employer needs for IT and telecommunications, and to aid in developing a curriculum for radio frequency identification device (RFID) implementation and compliance.
Tech IP Strategies
- Provide consortium training opportunities in advanced technologies that will keep the regional technology industry competitive.
- Monitor emerging technologies, potential applications and new markets for regional manufacturers
- Assist businesses in applying new technology applications that create efficiencies and competitive advantage.
- Facilitate incumbent worker training and development grants from State and Federal sources.
- Identify IT and telecommunications gaps and needs across all regional tech businesses and manufacturers.
- Monitor State and Federal policy that affects the technology industry.
Tech IP Results
Since 2009, the Council has been the project manager for Tech IP projects and trainings. Tech IP companies have received $142,750 in training dollars. The IP has received $125,655 in development dollars through the Regional Center for Workforce Excellence. Tech IP companies have benefited from advanced technology programs involving VM Ware, Microsoft, ERP, CRM applications, the Commonwealth’s ITQ and MATAAC grant workshop.
